The Essen Motorshow this year was an incredible event. There were so many awesome cars on display but, for us, the star of the show was the BMW G87 M2. We saw so many G87 M2 builds running some tasty modifications.
We brought our Papaya Orange M2 along, but this post isn’t all about our car. There were four other G87 M2s in attendance that we helped to modify for the show. We’re curious to hear what you think of them!
Each car was running the Edition 1 carbon fibre styling kit from MHC LDN. It’s great to see so many leading aftermarket brands seeing the quality & value this kit brings to the market!
H&R G87 M2 in Brooklyn Grey
This build is fairly simple with the Edition 1 kit, H&R lowering springs, satin black wheels, along with carbon front ducts & a rear lip spoiler. This project was important to us, not just because it was for H&R, but because it highlights how good the carbon kit looks on a Brooklyn Grey car - a colour many G87 M2 owners will opt for.
Also, the fact that H&R - a company built on quality - chose the Edition 1 kit over the many competitors out there, really showed us how well MHC LDN did in terms of both design & quality control.
Wheel Force G87 M2 in Black Sapphire
Wheel Force: the first of a few aftermarket wheel manufacturers that opted for the MHC LDN Edition 1 kit for their Essen build.
This example is a classic blacked-out & sleek G87 - a spec I’m sure many of you can get behind.
We know that aftermarket wheel companies focus heavily on both design & fitment. The carbon kit needed to be perfectly flush with both the lower body panels & the edges of the wheel arches. This ultimately led them to decide on the Edition 1 kit as the tolerances are so fine.
Yido Performance Wheels G87 M2 in Purple
Wow, what a stand-out colour! When the G87 was first unveiled, the consensus seemed to be “go for a darker colour to hide the car’s lines”. But now, we’re seeing more & more bold colour choices - showing the new M2’s looks are really starting to grow on people.
All we can say is well done to the guys from Yido Performance Wheels! We’re a fan of this one.
Z Performance Wheels G87 M2 in Black Sapphire
After looking at cars under the lights all day, it was refreshing to shoot this G87 outdoors in the rain. After all, this is where most G87 M2s will spend their time. On this example, you can see the MHC LDN Edition 1 kit paired with some other carbon exterior upgrades. If you look closely, you’ll also notice some very aggressive front fenders with integrated vents. Z Performance also threw on a stunning set of their own design alloy wheels to complete the look.
